The First International Conference on Teaching English as a Foreign Language in the age of AI (TEFL-AI 2026), organized by the International Education Researchers Network (REDIIE), is a global event that convenes educators, researchers and EdTech leaders to explore the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence on English education. Unlike traditional academic gatherings, this conference combines research, practice, and innovation, while the Expo showcases state-of-the-art resources, tools, and solutions shaping the future of English learning and teaching.
TEFL-AI 2026 aims to provide an international platform where educators, researchers, and practitioners share knowledge, best practices, and innovative approaches that redefine English learning and teaching in the context of the AI era. It fosters collaboration across academia, schools, and industry, and welcomes contributions in—but not limited to—the following areas:
- AI in English Language Education: Adaptive and AI-powered learning platforms; Generative AI for language practice and content creation and intelligent tutoring and automated feedback systems.
- Innovative Pedagogies and Practice: Active, collaborative, and project-based learning in ELT; Gamification, immersive learning, and XR technologies; Integrating AI into task-based and communicative approaches
- Assessment and Evaluation in the AI Age: AI-assisted language testing and feedback; Formative vs. summative assessment innovations; Fairness, ethics, and transparency in AI-based evaluation
- Teacher Training and Professional Development: Digital and AI literacy for English teachers; Lifelong learning, continuous upskilling, and reskilling; Global communities of practice in ELT
